Microbiome-Supportive

Saccharomyces ferment filtrate provides postbiotic activity supporting the skin's resident microbiome. Prebiotic metabolites maintain a skin-compatible acidic pH (4.0–5.5) and emerging literature supports reduction in Cutibacterium acnes at the epidermal surface.

Multi-Humectant Hydration

BG + Glycerin + Betaine triple-humectant system delivers immediate and sustained moisture retention in the stratum corneum. Betaine adds osmotic balance and anti-irritancy — compatible with high-active formulations containing acids and retinoids.

Barrier Repair & Emolliency

Squalane (sugarcane-derived) restores the skin lipid barrier, reduces TEWL, and provides a non-greasy emollient layer that enhances penetration of ferment actives into the stratum corneum.

PEG-Free Solubilization

Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate ensures complete miscibility of Squalane in the aqueous ferment base — no emulsion chemistry required, stable single-phase system. Mild, natural-origin solubilizer.

Humectant Chassis — BG + Glycerin + Betaine

Aqueous delivery medium and moisture reservoir for the ferment active. Betaine provides osmoprotective and anti-irritancy benefits — making OryzaGlow compatible with high-active formulations containing acids or retinoids.

Emollient Barrier Layer — Squalane

Seals in hydration from the humectant chassis. Squalane's biomimetic structure ensures zero occlusive heaviness while reinforcing the lipid barrier and enhancing ferment active delivery.

Preservation Note

OryzaGlow contains Butylene Glycol (30%) and Glycerin (15%) at concentrations providing inherent antimicrobial activity in the bulk material. However, given the biological-origin active (Rice Ferment Filtrate), a conventional preservative system at the finished formulation level is strongly recommended. PET testing per ISO 11930 required. Suggested preservative partners: Phenoxyethanol + Ethylhexylglycerin, or Sodium Benzoate + Potassium Sorbate for clean-label positioning.
