Fermentation — Halomonas elongata Culture

Halomonas elongata is cultivated in controlled bioreactor conditions optimized for growth and Ectoin biosynthesis. The halophilic bacteria naturally produces Ectoin as an osmotic stress response compound.

Hypotonic Stress — Ectoin Release

Cells are subjected to hypotonic stress by diluting the growth medium. Osmotic pressure change causes cells to actively secrete Ectoin into the surrounding medium — without cell death or lysis.

Harvest — Living Cell Recovery

Ectoin-rich supernatant is harvested while living cells are recovered and returned to hypertonic medium to re-accumulate Ectoin. Cells can be "milked" multiple times — sustainable, low-waste process.

Post-Biotic Filtrate — Formulation

The harvested ferment filtrate contains Ectoin plus co-secreted post-biotic compounds. Formulated into the SBCT humectant chassis — ready for direct incorporation into finished formulations.
